Inherent benefit from maturing plantations
Average productive life of an orange tree commences after 4 years and lasts for over 30 years. Orange output grows until maturity at around 10 years.
As at 30 June 2009, approximately 50% of trees aged five years or less
Hepu Plantation - average age: 9.8 years
Xinfeng Plantation ¡X average age: 3.8 years
Volume increased by 83% from 81,170 tonnes in 2004 to 152,059 tonnes in 2009
Final 400,000 trees was planted at the Xinfeng Plantation in 1H 2007, and all 1.6 million orange trees
are expected to be fruit bearing by 2011.
